Half of the facility will house the new cancer center, and the other half will house other medical practices, including Winston-Salem Cardiology Associates, Salem Surgical Associates and Martinat Outpatient Rehabilitation Center.

The cancer center will be operated by Novant-owned Piedmont Hematology-Oncology Associates and Piedmont Radiation Oncology and will feature a linear accelerator, according to the report.

Construction on the medical building is expected to begin next month and be completed in 12 to 18 months.
