Halifax and Bert Fish’s previous oncology partnership fizzled out more than a year ago after the old linear accelerator became obsolete and Bert Fish pursued a merge with Halifax rival Adventist Health.

A circuit court judge ruled the Adventist-Bert Fish merger could not proceed. Since that time, Halifax and Bert Fish had entered talks to re-establish an oncology partnership and jointly purchase a new linear accelerator.
