The waiting room caters to young cancer patients who may need the expertise that Froedtert & the Medical College has to offer. Such cancer cases are rare, and before the waiting room opened, Froedtert didn’t have a space to accommodate kids coming to the hospital for cancer care.

The center cost approximately $35,000 to build, and the money was raised through donations from hospital physicians and staff, community foundations and vendors, according to the report.
