Temple University Health System and Fox Chase Cancer Center signed an affiliation agreement in December, and in March it was announced the health system would pay $83.8 million to acquire the cancer center.

The acquisition will strengthen the health system’s cancer services and allow Fox Chase Cancer Center to expand its outpatient and surgical services. The affiliation will also promote collaborative research on cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
