During his tenure in CMS spanning from April 2010 to November 2011, the pediatrician was the architect behind the “triple aim” framework for President Barack Obama’s healthcare reform law.
“As a doctor, an educator, an innovator and someone who has dedicated his professional career to making things work better and to helping people — I am ready to lead,” Dr. Berwick said in a statement posted on his campaign website.
He faces Democratic primary matchups against the state treasurer, lieutenant governor, and a U.S. representative.
