Happy Veterans Day to our readers who have served to protect and defend our great country through their service in the Armed Forces. Every American should be thanking you for your service today, and every day, and I am one of them.

I was in Washington, D.C., last week for work, and although I didn’t have much time to explore the city, I asked my taxi driver to take the long route back to the airport, which allowed us to drive by the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials as well as Arlington National Cemetery. It’s hard not to be moved even just driving by these landmarks, as they serve as a reminder of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our nation and the freedom it provides us, as well as to other nations.
So, to our readers who have served, to my family and friends who read the blog (including especially my grandfather Charles Dunn, a Korean War vet; my closest childhood friend Captain Ashley Furgason, currently serving at Hill Air Force Base) and countless other friends and acquaintances who have sacrificed their safety to protect us: Thank you.
