UVA Health System will lead a clinical trial, called Stroke Hyperglycemia Insulin Network Effort (SHINE), involving more than 50 centers across the country. Researchers will study whether controlling diabetic stroke patients’ blood sugar in the early period after stroke is an effective treatment.
