Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health has partnered with Shields Health Solutions to launch an integrated specialty pharmacy program aimed at improving access to medications for patients with chronic and complex conditions.

The new Baptist Specialty Pharmacy, located at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, will initially focus on rheumatology, with oncology services expected to follow, according to a June 9 news release.

Patients can receive specialty medications through the retail pharmacy or a direct-to-patient prescription delivery service. The program also offers insurance navigation and financial assistance services designed to reduce out-of-pocket costs, improve medication adherence and accelerate access to therapies.

The partnership is intended to streamline specialty medication coordination while reducing administrative burdens on providers and clinical teams, allowing them to focus on patient care.
