Emory completes $87.7M heart center expansion

Atlanta-based Emory University Hospital completed its $87.7 million heart and vascular expansion.

The three years of planning and construction created a new 16-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit, a suite of new cardiovascular and thoracic operating rooms, catheterization laboratories, and electrophysiology laboratories. The facility will open on March 19, according to a March 12 system news release. 

The hospital has begun hiring 80 new staff members for the facility.
