The project will result in 6,000 square feet of newly constructed space and 12,000 square feet of renovated space. It will also include the conversion of the hospital’s 25 patient beds into private rooms.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded a loan of $8.5 million to the hospital to help fund the project.
Construction is slated to begin in September or October, and it is expected to be completed by 2015, according to the report.
