CMS has proposed Medicare and Medicaid coverage for transcatheter tricuspid transcatheter edge-to-edge repair procedures for the treatment of symptomatic tricuspid regurgitation.

The procedures would be subject to CMS’ Coverage with Evidence Development guidelines, meaning coverage would be considered only in the context of a clinical study, according to an April 3 memo from the agency.

The public comment period on the proposed coverage criteria will end May 3. Organizations can submit comments here.
