The hospital will begin the expansion this fall and it will be completed in fall of 2015.
The project will add 112,000 square feet of space to Carteret General, including a new main entrance and expanded inpatient and outpatient service areas. Remodeling work will include the women’s health and intensive care units as well as conversion of multiple-occupancy acute-care rooms to private rooms. The project will also consolidate chemotherapy and radiation therapy into an interdisciplinary center, according to the report.
