Cardiology leader appointed physician-in-chief at Children’s of Alabama

Yung Lau, MD, has been appointed physician-in-chief of Birmingham-based Children’s of Alabama. 

He has also been named chair of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s department of pediatrics, according to a March 18 news release from the university. 

Dr. Lau is a professor and the vice chair for clinical affairs in the department of pediatrics, the Thomas N. Carruthers Endowed Chair in cardiology and division director for pediatric cardiology at UAB. 

He will step into his new roles March 24.
