Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital (Charleston, S.C.). Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, part of Roper St. Francis, has a dedicated recovery unit specifically designed for neuro-spine patients. The Neuroscience & Spine Program at Roper St. Francis was the first program in South Carolina to obtain CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System and O-arm, an imaging system that allows the surgeon to see precisely where to place instruments during surgery. Neurosurgeons in the program also actively participate in clinical trials with the Neuro-Oncology clinic in partnership with the Levine Cancer Center. In 2015, CareChex ranked Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital No. 27 in the nation for spinal surgery. The hospital is also recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. For the last three years, Healthgrades has recognized the hospital as one of the nation’s top 100 hospitals for spine surgery. The Magnet-designated hospital also received Healthgrades’ Stroke Care Excellence Award in 2016.
