Mr. Bezos’ net worth is $55 billion more than the world’s second-richest man, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Crossing the $150 billion mark tops, in inflation-adjusted terms, Mr. Gates’ $100 billion net worth he achieved briefly in 1999, which would be worth roughly $149 billion in 2018.
Mr. Bezos passed the $150 billion threshold when shares of Amazon reached $1,841.95 early July 16. His net worth has grown by $52 billion this year.
