The additional shares increased Berkshire Hathaway’s stake in Apple to $46.6 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Apple became the first U.S. company to reach $1 trillion market valuation Aug. 2. There are more than 4.8 billion shares of Apple, and investors previously suggested a $203.45 share price would help it reach the $1 trillion mark. However, the company returned $100 billion to shareholders as part of a stock buyback program in May, which pushed the benchmark higher.
