American Heart Association Adds Atrial Fibrillation Program

The American Heart Association announced the expansion of its Get With The Guidelines quality improvement program to include patients hospitalized with atrial fibrillation.

Get With The Guidelines-Atrial Fibrillation will provide quality improvement tactics based on scientific guidelines for treating AF patients and a system for collecting data on AF. The data will help hospitals evaluate their practices and develop new evidence-based guidelines for hospitalized AF patient care.

Enrollment in the new program will begin within the next year.
