“It’s a great slogan but it’s not workable in practice,” he said in the interview. “It’s going to lead to higher costs for everyone through taxes, longer waiting times in terms of access to providers, and at the end of the day, care is going to be worse.”
He also has “very significant concerns” about former Vice President Joe Biden’s public option. Mr. Eyles believes a public option could create a noncompetitive environment and displace the private market, he told USA TODAY.
