The American College of Cardiology has issued a new tool to help physicians leverage Apple Watch heart monitoring capabilities accurately and safely.
Developed with funding and support from Apple, the “Leveraging Apple Watch for Cardiovascular Care” tool is now available for download, according to a May 20 news release from the organization.
The tool offers physicians guidance on best practices for data collection and monitoring, care plan implementation and patient education.
“The ACC embraces technologies that encourage patients and clinicians to work together,” Ami Bhatt, MD, the ACC’s chief innovation officer, said in the release. “This tool will guide clinicians on using Apple Watch’s heart health regulated features in clinical practice and help clinicians advise their patients on how to incorporate Apple Watch features into longitudinal heart health management.”
