Zocdoc, a service that allows patients to schedule medical appointments online, launched a free telehealth video service on May 13.
Any healthcare provider can use the Zocdoc Video Service at no charge to manage their virtual appointments, whether or not the visits are scheduled through Zocdoc's platform.
Zocdoc's video service is HIPAA compliant and can support healthcare organizations of all sizes, according to a news release.
"Zocdoc has always helped providers and patients seamlessly connect, and Zocdoc Video Service is a natural extension for our business as telehealth becomes a permanent part of America's healthcare delivery," Zocdoc founder and CEO Oliver Kharraz, MD, said. "Providers are being asked to reimagine how they care for their patients, and we are pleased we can offer all providers the technology to facilitate all of their video visits for free."
