In October, HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration designated UMMC a national “telehealth center of excellence.” The designation establishes the hospital’s telehealth center as a “national clearinghouse for telehealth research and resources,” according to an Oct. 5 UMMC statement.
The hospital’s telehealth center, which connects remote patients to UMMC providers via video consultation for both primary and specialty medical services, is one of two national telehealth centers of excellence in the U.S.
With SnapMD’s virtual care management software, UMMC will have the capability to connect patients to telehealth services in 35-plus specialties, according to a March 14 SnapMD statement.
