Texas gives $3.6M to nursing homes for connected devices

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is providing the state's nursing homes with $3.6 million to purchase tablets, webcams and headphones, according to a May 27 news release from the governor's office.

The devices will allow nursing home residents to communicate safely with their loved ones during the pandemic. CMS has offered guidelines for proper cleaning and disinfecting of the devices.

Nursing homes can submit applications for up to $3,000 in funding to the HHSC.
