Teladoc to offer Hurricane Harvey victims 3 months free online counseling

Teladoc will provide free online counseling sessions to individuals in Hurricane Harvey evacuation areas, including displaced residents who are not members of Teladoc, for up to three months.

Teladoc announced its initial decision to offer victims of Hurricane Harvey access to general medical care for nonemergency illnesses at no cost Aug. 29. Under the program's expansion, BetterHelp — a division of Teladoc — will offer free short-term counseling and therapy services.

BetterHelp matches patients with psychologists, clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors and marriage and family therapists via chat, phone and video technology.
