Teladoc's revenue rises 62%, surpases $100M in Q3: 4 things to know

Teladoc Health has released its earnings results for the third quarter of 2018.

Here are four things to know about the Purchase, N.Y.-based telehealth vendor's financial performance:

1. Teladoc posted $111 million in revenue for the third quarter, up 62 percent from $68.6 million during the same period last year.

2. Subscription access fees comprised most of Teladoc's third-quarter revenue at $96.6 million, up 60 percent from the third quarter of 2017. Teladoc attributed its remaining revenue to visit fees.

3. Teladoc posted a $23.3 million net loss, down 25 percent from the $31.3 million net loss the company reported during the third quarter of 2017.

4. The company expects its revenue for full-year 2018 to be in the range of $414 million to $416 million.

"We carry significant momentum into the end of the year as demand for our comprehensive suite of virtual care services is robust across channels and geographies," said Jason Gorevic, CEO of Teladoc. "We have a tremendous growth opportunity in front of us as the entry point into the healthcare system where individuals can go for guided access to a fully integrated, high-quality care experience."
