Teladoc names 1st president: 3 things to know

Teladoc appointed Peter McClennen to the newly-created position of president, effective Nov. 1.

Here are three things to know about the appointment.

1. Mr. McClennen is the former CEO of Best Doctors, a medical consultation company Teladoc acquired in July. Mr. McClennen most recently served as president of Teladoc's Best Doctors division.

2. In the new role, Mr. McClennen will assume responsibility for Teladoc's commercial operations across the globe, including sales, account management, product development and strategy.

3. Mr. McClennen will report directly to Teladoc CEO Jason Gorevic.

"I'm incredibly pleased to welcome Peter as Teladoc's president," Mr. Gorevic said. "With an impressive career leading healthcare IT companies, both domestically and internationally, Peter has a proven track record of successfully translating vision and strategy into world class execution."
