Three things to know:
1. Teladoc Back Care, which Teladoc developed with online physical therapy program Telespine, provides participants with personalized exercise-based treatment plans, including coaching, strengthening, decompression, mobility and movement guidance.
2. The program is four to eight weeks long and can be completed at the patient’s convenience. Teladoc said it hopes the new program will help support patients suffering from back pain, a condition known for low rates of treatment adherence.
3. Teladoc conducted a pilot study of the program last year with a large employer, which demonstrated improved patient satisfaction levels and improved patient pain scale assessments. More than 90 percent of study participants reported a 49 percent reduction in pain after the pilot.
