Here are four notes on the agreement:

1. Care Innovations is a telemedicine solutions provider that connects patients with chronic diseases to their care teams.

2. Under the agreement, Care Innovations will offer Roche’s mobile diabetes management solution mySugr on its telemedicine platform. Care Innovations works with health insurers, health networks and clinics in the U.S. and Canada.

3. MySugr, which Roche acquired in 2017, enables patients with diabetes to share blood glucose data with their healthcare provider and access coaching services.

4. The Roche Venture Fund will also invest funds in the first closing of Care Innovations’ Series B financing round.

“We believe in the benefits digital health and telemedicine solutions can bring to patients and are happy to partner with Care Innovations,” Marcel Gmuender, global head of Roche Diabetes Care, said in the company’s June 25 statement. “Jointly we will be able to provide comprehensive remote care and support to better manage diabetes and its secondary complications.”
