Virtua Health will use telehealth to connect veterans with access to primary and behavioral healthcare services, such telepsychology, telepsychiatry, telebehavioral health, e-counseling, e-therapy, online therapy and cybercounseling.
“For many veterans, travel[ing] to see a healthcare provider can be complicated and overwhelming, particularly in areas where transportation options might be limited,” said New Jersey Health Commissioner Cathleen Bennett. “Telehealth can ease the burden by offering long-distance virtual care to veterans while they remain in a comfortable environment.”
Virtua Health will also seek to connect veterans in need of other social services — such as housing, employment or transportation — with appropriate organizations.
