Indiana hospital to provide telemedicine care to local elementary school students

Daviess Community Hospital in Washington, Ind., will offer virtual care appointments to local elementary school students as part of a new telehealth center for students, according to the Washington Times Herald.

Washington-based North Daviess Elementary school received a grant from the Indiana Rural Health Association for the telehealth technology and equipment. The telehealth program will help provide treatment for students, without having to leave school, for various conditions, including colds and eye issues.

Students who use the virtual care services can get a diagnosis as well as a prescribed medication for pickup from clinicians at the hospital.
