HRSA awards $600k grant to Medical University of South Carolina, dubs it national telehealth center of excellence

HHS' Health Resources and Services Administration awarded Charleston-based Medical University of South Carolina a $600,000 grant, establishing it as one of only two national Telehealth Centers of Excellence in the U.S.

The grant will help the MUSC telehealth team teach, lobby for and disseminate the best practices for efficient and effective telehealth services nationwide.

"This grant acknowledges the premier position that our telehealth team has established not only in South Carolina, but across the nation. It serves as another clear affirmation of our institution's commitment to fulfill our vision — to lead health innovation for the lives we touch," said Patrick Cawley, MD, MUSC Health CEO.
