Gifford Health Care to offer telepsychiatry services to ER patients

Randolph, Vt.-based Gifford Health Care is expanding its psychiatric services for emergency department patients by using Alpine Telehealth's video conferencing abilities.

Under the partnership, telepsychiatry services will be available at Gifford Health Care's ED and hospital inpatient departments. Services include video chat through Alpine Telehealth's web-based platform.

"By partnering with Alpine Telehealth, we are able to connect our patients in crisis with the help they need, faster, thereby reducing long waits in the ED and delays in receiving treatment due to the limited number of psychiatric beds available across the state," Gifford Health Care CMO Joshua White, MD, said in a news release.
