Georgia health system partners with school district to launch telehealth program

Macon, Ga.-based Mercer Medicine is partnering with Harris County School District to launch a telehealth program for Harris County students, WTVM reported Jan. 18.

Students can meet virtually with a Mercer clinician through a private room in school to receive diagnoses, treatment recommendations and fill prescriptions. Parents of students can request appointments, or a school nurse can recommend that a student see a Mercer clinician.

The program will kick off Jan. 31.
