Consumer Technology Association names 1st VP of digital health: 3 things to know

The Consumer Technology Association named Rene Quashie its first-ever vice president of policy and regulatory affairs of digital health, the trade association confirmed Aug. 3.

Here are three things to know about Mr. Quashie:

1. In his new role, Mr. Quashie will work with the association's health and fitness technology division to support education, research and policy initiatives related to consumer digital health and wellness products.

2. Mr. Quashie most recently worked at the international law firm Cozen O'Connor, based in Philadelphia, where he focused on regulatory issues for telehealth and mobile health. His clients included startups, health technology companies and healthcare trade associations.

3. Mr. Quashie holds a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C.

"We're thrilled Rene is joining CTA, especially at such a critical time for digital health technology policy," Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CTA, said in a news release. "Rene's expertise will build on our already successful work in this sector and help CTA be an even stronger advocate for digital health innovators."
