Micra TPS is one-tenth the size of a traditional pacemaker and is inserted into the heart through a catheter instead of the femoral vein, eliminating the need for a surgical chest incision. Instead of using wires, the Micra TPS has an electrode that delivers electric pulses to pace the heart.
Initial results from the global clinical trial for Micra TPS are expected by the second half of 2014.
