Woman finds pile of 'hundreds' of expired medical supplies outside Dallas hospital

A woman said she was walking her dog when they came upon a pile of "hundreds" of medical supplies strewn across the ground near Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, Fox-4 News reports.

Ashley Childress told Fox-4 News she was walking her dog across the street from the hospital when her dog found the medical supplies on the ground. She said she took a picture and posted it to her social media and called city services for help, but was unable to get ahold of anyone, according to the report.

Work crews reportedly began sweeping up the pile of medical supplies shortly after Fox-4 News arrived at the scene, the report states. The property where the supplies were found belongs to the hospital.

"Our staff immediately responded and determined that these were clean and unused supplies. These supplies were expired and had recently been discarded by our Faith in Action Initiatives program, which uses donated medical equipment and supplies in mission work around the world. We are reviewing our processes related to the disposal of unused supplies," a spokesperson for Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas told Fox-4 News.

Hospital officials are investigating to determine what the pile of medical supplies was composed of, the report states.
