Bloodworks Northwest, based in Seattle, is calling for donors of all blood types.

The snowstorms prevented many donors from being able to make scheduled appointments. Bloodworks estimates that 1,500 collections were lost over a three-day period.

During the winter storms, blood supplies reached such low levels that Washington imported blood from other states.
