The U.S. Justice Department said Sept. 7 that Chad Paul Jacob, 54, of Saucier, Miss., was working as an assistant chief of supply chain management for the health system when he stole supplies and resold them at pawn shops and on his personal eBay account. The scheme took place from 2009 to 2020.
During the pandemic, Mr. Jacob stole N95 masks and resold them for grossly inflated prices, making more than $50,000. He also made more than $9,000 selling stolen iPads and iPhones, the Justice Department said.
He is set to be sentenced Dec. 7 and faces up to 10 years in prison.
