UPS said Nov. 3 it acquired Andlauer Healthcare Group, a cold chain transportation company that specializes in healthcare, for approximately $1.6 billion.

The acquisition of the Canada-based company is one of several steps UPS has made into the healthcare industry. In 2019, UPS spun off its healthcare unit into a company that generated $10 billion in revenue in 2023 — about 10% of UPS’ total revenue.

UPS Healthcare has 17 million square feet of global healthcare distribution space and provides inventory management, cold chain packaging and shipping, medical device storage and fulfillment, and lab and clinical trial logistics services.
