SSF is a privately owned manufacturer of high precision silicone components for medical technology original equipment manufacturers based in Tustin, Calif. The company has production facilities in Tustin and Paso Robles, Calif., along with Elk Rapids, Mich. Last year, SSF made almost $330 million in sales.

Trelleborg is a world leader in engineered polymer solutions. The Trelleborg Group has annual sales of $30 billion in over 40 countries.

“I am delighted to announce this acquisition. SSF is a leading player in silicone products for the U.S. market, with a strong reputation, track record and an attractive base of OEM customers. The acquired company differentiates itself by focusing on advanced, challenging applications and by providing support and value to the customer from initial design — a similar positioning and approach to Trelleborg,” said Claus Barsøe, president of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions business area.

The transaction is expected to be finalized by the end of 2016.
