Top 50 health system, hospital supply chains

The Global Healthcare Exchange revealed March 14 its list of the top 50 supply chains among hospitals and health systems.

To create the ranking, GHX evaluated metrics including purchasing volume, exception rates, exchange utilization and the number of trading partner connections in 2022. More than 4,100 organizations, which annually processed more than 10,000 purchase orders, were considered for the ranking.

The organization has published this list every year since 2015, but after this ranking, it will sunset the award because "times have changed and so have the metrics," GHX said, as medical supply chains become more automated. It will refresh the best 50 list with a "perfect order" distinction award in early 2024.
