The 1st postpartum depression drug, a device to treat heart failure & more: 4 recent FDA approvals

1. Zulresso is the first treatment specifically intended for women with postpartum depression.  Administered intravenously, the drug is designed to work faster than other antidepressants.

2. Optimizer Smart system is a device for treating chronic, moderate-to-severe heart failure who are not able to receive cardiac resynchronization therapy.

3. Sunosi was approved to treat excessive daytime sleepiness in adults with narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea.

4. Trecentriq received another approval from the FDA. It is now approved to treat extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Tricentriq was previously approved to treat breast cancer.
