The SafeDose Scan is a handheld device that scans a medication’s National Drug Code and translates the data to provide information on how to accurately dose, prepare and administer the drug.
eBroselow collaborated with the technology manufacturing company Honeywell to develop the SafeDose Scan. Honeywell incorporated eBroselow’s medication safety software.
The device, which aims to reduce medication errors, can also be used during drug shortages, natural disasters and internet or power outages.
“In an emergency, healthcare professionals are hurtling toward hope and making split-second decisions that have sweeping consequences,” said James Broselow, MD, co-founder and CMO of eBroselow. “They deserve better tools to accurately dose and administer medication, without having to go home wondering if they’ve made a mistake.”
