Procter & Gamble eyes Pfizer’s consumer health business: 4 things to know

Pfizer is reportedly in talks with Procter & Gamble over the sale of its consumer healthcare business, according to CNBC.

Here are four things to know.

1. Pfizer’s consumer health business, which has been for sale for months, includes products such as Advil, Chapstick and Centrum vitamins.

2. P&G is offering around $15 billion for the consumer health business, while Pfizer is seeking at least $20 billion, sources familiar with the discussions told CNBC. 

3. Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline and Reckitt Benckiser Group already looked at purchasing Pfizer’s consumer health business.

4. Pfizer is also considering other options for the business, including a joint venture with other pharmaceutical companies. The drugmaker hopes to reach a decision on the consumer health business by May.
