University Health System in San Antonio is facing a critical blood shortage, with the lowest supply the health system has seen in at least 14 years, local CBS affiliate Kens 5 News reported. 

Ten hospitals and health systems posted job listings for supply chain expertise in the last week:

A group of over 100 procurement professionals from 1,500 post-acute healthcare facilities have joined together to form the Society for Healthcare Organization Procurement Professionals, a group meant to bridge the gap between clinical and financial leadership in the healthcare field.
