Reva Medical, a San Diego-based devicemaker that specializes in vascular devices, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Mass Device reported. 

The Environmental Protection Agency backed down on its request to find out more about how medical sterilization facilities use ethylene oxide, a carcinogenic chemical, after the FDA claimed  jurisdiction in the matter, Bloomberg Environment reported. 

ResMed, a medical devicemaker based in San Diego, agreed to pay the U.S. $37.5 million to resolve claims that it provided free goods and services to companies to sell more of its equipment, the U.S. Justice Department announced Jan. 15. 

Medical supplies that weren't properly disposed of caused 2,700 gallons of sewage to spill near medical offices in Moultrie, Ga., local ABC affiliate WTXL reported.
