Mylan lays off up to 300 employees

Mylan Pharmaceuticals laid off between 200 and 300 employees in West Virginia Nov. 9, according to West Virginia Metro News.

The layoffs impacted employees from accounting, human resources, corporate security, customer relations and customer complaints. Two different sites in Morgantown, W.Va, were affected by the job cuts.

"These changes are a part of [a] previously announced restructuring that we are continuing to execute on. These decisions are about keeping Mylan fit and positioning the company for another 50 years of successful operations here in West Virginia and around the world," Mylan representatives wrote in an email to West Virginia Metro News.

It is unclear if any additional layoffs are planned as part of the restructuring plan.
