Medtronic has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Scientia Vascular, a neurovascular device company, for $550 million, according to a March 10 news release.
Scientia Vascular, based in Salt Lake City, has about 300 employees.
“Scientia’s portfolio of guidewires and catheters can be seamlessly integrated with Medtronic’s existing suite of neurovascular products,” the release said.
Medtronic said the acquisition is valued at $550 million and could include additional earn-out and milestone payments after the deal closes, which is expected in the first half of 2027.
