Medline plans to open an approximately 800,000-square-foot distribution center in Van Buren Township, Mich., adding capacity and operational flexibility to its distribution network.
The facility is expected to begin serving customers across Michigan in late 2028, according to an Oct. 15 news release. Medline said the distribution center is expected to house many of the same technologies already in use at its other facilities. The company said the project will expand capacity and flexibility in Michigan and support healthcare providers across the state and broader Midwest.
The Michigan project is the latest addition to Medline’s distribution footprint this year. In March, the company broke ground on a distribution center in Midlothian, Texas. In June, a fire destroyed a 1 million-square-foot Medline warehouse in California, and the company secured two new distribution centers the following month.
The added capacity also comes as Medline signs more health systems to prime vendor agreements. In the Midwest alone, Minneapolis-based Allina Health and Ohio health systems in July and August named Medline their prime vendor this year.
