Medline has entered an agreement with Symbotic to implement AI-enabled warehouse automation technology.
The company is the first healthcare organization to deploy the Symbotic system, an AI-powered platform that automates the picking, storage and retrieval of items used across hospital supply chains, according to an April 16 Medline news release.
Medline plans to pilot the technology in 2027 at one of its 45 U.S. distribution centers. The system uses autonomous robots to manage inventory and build outbound shipments aligned with provider needs.
The move is part of Medline’s broader investment in automation to improve speed, accuracy and scalability across the healthcare supply chain.
