Magellan Diagnostics expands recall of blood lead test kits

Magellan Diagnostics on Sept. 1 expanded its recall of blood lead tests, which was initiated in May after the company identified an ongoing issue with the controls used in the tests.

Several lots of the blood lead tests have been recalled, as they carry a significant risk of falsely low results, according to the company. 

Magellan is notifying customers and distributors affected by the recall, providing them with instructions on how to return and replace the blood lead test kits.
